Town of Steilacoom 1030 Roe Street Steilacoom, WA 98388 Call for Bids - 2746 Cambridge Drive, Steilacoom, WA 98388 Structure Demolition With Asbestos Abatement and Lot Clearing for the 2746 Cambridge Drive Structure Demolition and Asbestos Abatement and Lot Clearing Project. At the time and date previously stated, the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids are to be submitted only on the form provided in the Specifications and shall be addressed to Linda Orozco, Purchasing Agent, 1030 Roe Street, Steilacoom, WA 98388. All Bidders or interested parties are invited to attend. All bids must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond, payable to the "Town of Steilacoom" of value not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the Town of Steilacoom. The Town of Steilacoom reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities in the bid or bidding. The Project consists of the demolition and asbestos abatement of the boarded-up residence at 2746 Cambridge Drive, Steilacoom, Washington 98388, removal of all vegetation on the site greater than 1 inch high, leveling of the lot, and placement of erosion control measures. This project is further described below: SCOPE OF WORK - ASBESTOS ABATEMENT: Project Description: Demolition of the existing fire-damaged two-story residence located at 2746 Cambridge Drive, Steilacoom WA. The 1,800 square foot residence was constructed in 1974. The contractor is encouraged to visit the site and confirm the site conditions, work areas and site accessibility prior to submitting a bid and schedule for this work. The building should not be entered without appropriate PPE including boot covers. The fire-damaged residence has been vacant for many years and open to the elements resulting in extensive water-damage to the structure and interior finishes. The damaged ACM ceiling texture identified throughout the structure has contaminated all floors, furnishings and other possessions left behind after the fire. Therefore, conventional abatement prior to demolition is not feasible due to safety considerations. All demolition work will be performed in accordance with WISHA Regional Directive WRD 23.35 Demolition of Buildings with Asbestos Containing Materials The structure demolition must be performed by a Washington State Certified abatement contractor. A Certified Asbestos Supervisor must be present at the work site. Employee exposure monitoring must be performed as required by WAC 296-62-077
