Brief Description of Work: Work consists of surface preparation and providing and installing replacement flooring for the first floor at Wicomico Middle School per the bidding documents. The existing flooring removal and disposal is to be performed by another contractor. The successful bidder will need to coordinate schedule removal and disposal contractor. Project Location: 635 East Main Street, Salisbury, Maryland The contractor or supplier who provides materials, supplies, equipment, and/or services for this construction project shall attempt to achieve the result that a minimum of ZERO percent of the total contract value is made directly or indirectly from certified minority business enterprises. All general contractors and subcontractors, including certified MBE firms, when bidding as general or prime contractors are required to attempt to achieve the MBE subcontracting goals from certified MBE firms approved by the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT). Certified Minority Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond to this solicitation notice. There will not be a Pre-bid Conference held for this project. The contractor or supplier agrees to make a good faith effort to carry out the MBE requirements of this contract in a manner which is consistent with the efficient performance of the project. Each Bidder shall deposit with his proposal a Bid Bond in the amount of Ten Percent (10%) of the Base Bid. The form of the Bid Bond shall be AIA Document A310 Bid Bond - 1970 edition or equivalent. A Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, in the full amount of the contract award shall be provided by the successful bidder prior to the execution of the contract. Bond Requirements are for projects greater than $100,000. (Bid Bonds and Payment and Performance Bonds are not required for Bids below $100,000.) No Bidder may withdraw their bid within ninety (90) days after the date and time of bid opening. The Board of Education may extend the time and place for the opening of bids by facsimile notification to those known general contract bidders who have obtained copies of the plans and specifications through the Printer.
