Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Palmer, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The work consists of removing and demolishing the existing bridge and modifying the existing abutments to accept a modular truss bridge and installing new guardrails, railings, and roadway improvements adjacent to the bridge. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis, as indicated in the Bid Form. All Bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. A bid deposit shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. This Contract contains allowances for price adjustments for diesel fuel, gasoline, and steel. Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Contractor, before Bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed Work under this Contract.
