Morenci Area School District seeks a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a new district wide Public Address System (PA System). The new PA system will be a new networked digital hybrid public address (PA) system. This system needs to work with existing hybrid phone system (PBX based), existing 25-70volt speaker systems (classroom, hallways and paging horns) and be compatible with digital/ IP based communications, VOIP telecom protocols should the district expand the telecom system in the future. Locust St. 304 Page St. Morenci, MI 49256 Morenci, MI 49256 1. Sequences and dates specified herein are for information only and indicate the plan and intent of the Owner. Actual dates shall be established based on final award of project. 2. Sequence of operations shall be established by the Contractor within the guidelines established by the Owner as required to meet schedules 1. This specification describes the various PA system(s) associated with the Morenci Area Schools Request for new Public Address Systems in their Elementary, Middle and High School facilities. 2. The intent of the specification is for the PA Systems contractor to provide a professionally installed system that is complete, tested, and ready to use. 3. This project manual and any drawings and any addenda constitute the contract documents. The Morenci Area School District is requesting proposals from qualified vendors interested in providing a new district wide Public Address system(s) for each of the three school buildings. PA systems should have a web-based UI to make adjustments to the system. Compatible with Windows, Apple, Android, and possibly Linux devices. PA systems must have the ability to connect to existing network infrastructure within School/District along with compatibility with PBX and VOIP Phone Systems. Vendor will provide mounts, parts, materials, installation, testing, and disposal of any garbage from the project. The scope of the project includes: Intercom Head End 1. Network based. Must have an ethernet (RJ45) connection. 2. Ability to interface with Classroom Audio systems via SIP. 3. Ability to make adjustments via a web-based UI. 4. Interaction/Programming with Head End of Intercom to be done with a touch screen telephone device from a School Front Office location (location to be decided by school/District Staff). 5. Must include a physical onsite server/application. 6. Availability for a District application that allows visibility of all headends and the ability to communicate with these devices/locations. Classroom Audio/Intercom/paging/voice amplification (distributed audio) 1. Network based. Must have an ethernet (RJ45) connection. Must include Voice amplification and intercom/paging functionality/integration. 2. Must be compatible with existing speaker(s) in the classroom for intercom/paging. 3. Amplifiers need to be compatible with existing 25-70V speakers. Common Zone Paging 1. Amplifiers and speakers to accommodate common spaces such as gymnasiums, outside areas, hallway areas, bathrooms, teacher prep rooms, etc. a. Ongoing system and firmware updates to be included in cost. b. Training for School/District Staff Installation Specifications: Responsive bidders will provide a quotation for PA System and Installation consisting of: 1. Intercom Head End, Amplifiers compatible with existing speakers, and Common Zones 2. Integration into school data network infrastructure when/where applicable. 3. Intercom must be able to integrate with current telecom system and provide compatibility with VOIP 4. Cleanup and removal from the install area after installation is complete. Garbage must be hauled off site at installers expense. 1. Furnish all equipment, materials, cable, labor, and engineering services to provide complete and professionally installed systems in working order and in accordance with good engineering practice. 2. Coordinate with Morenci Area Schools District Coordinator to ensure the necessary accommodations are made related to the facility networks and internet (e.g. VLAN requirements, network topology, security, et al.) 3. Coordinate with Morenci Area Schools District Coordinator as required to ensure timely progress and successful integration of the PA Sound system(s). 4. Install, pull, and terminate all wire and cable as required for a successful installation. 5. Furnish any additional items, not specifically mentioned herein, to meet good engineering practice, without claim for additional payment. Such items may include, but are not limited to, hardware, transformers, terminal strips, connectors, resistors, capacitors, blank cover plates, and other Audio devices for proper installation, interface, isolation, and/or gain structure. 6. Furnish additional items not specifically mentioned herein as required to provide a fully functioning PA sound system. 7. Furnish shop drawings and receive Morenci Area Schools District Coordinator approval prior to procurement, fabrication, and installation. 8. Perform initial adjustments, verification tests, and final adjustments. 9. Provide training of owner's staff on all PA systems items listed. 10. Provide system documentation including copies of all relevant as-built documentation and equipment manuals. 11. Provide maintenance and warranty services for the specified period from the date of acceptance. 12. Note that the work scope under this section does not include the materials or installation for the AC power system except for the fabrication required within the equipment racks and where specifically called out in the contract documents. 13. Note that the scope of work described in this specification includes materials or installation hardware for the successful completion of this sound system specification. This includes conduit, couplings, hangers, supports, pull boxes, pull box lids, pull string, back boxes, lids/covers/blank plates for all AV boxes, and ladder tray
