Demolition, site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Altavista, Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
In accordance with Section 2-236 of the Code of the Town of Altavista (Town), the Town is soliciting quotes from licensed and insured general contractors for the preparation (excavation and grading) of Town-owned parcels for new construction and demolition of one blighted structure. Description: Contractor shall provide a quote(s) for excavation, grading, and demolition services, as applicable, to prepare land for new housing construction activities and in accordance with the Scope of Services listed below. Quote shall include, but shall not be limited to, all material, time, labor, hauling, disposal costs and all required local, state, or federal permits as required. Property Addresses: 703 13th Street, Altavista, VA 24517 (blighted structure) 806 12th Street, Altavista, VA 24517 (vacant lot) 904 15th Street, Altavista, VA, 24517 (vacant lot) Scope of Services: I. 806 12th Street: 1.1 Clear site of all trees and shrubs along property line. Material to be hauled off and properly disposed. 1.2 Ditch line at rear of property to be maintained but graded and blended to current property contours with accommodations for proper drainage. 1.3 Grade, compact and apply approximately 5 ton of stone gravel for installation of driveway/lot access - approximately 12 feet wide and 30 feet long. 1.4 Optional hydro seed post construction. II. 703 13th Street: 2.1 Clear site of all trees and overgrown vegetation to include, but not limited to, large walnut tree in rear of property. 2.2 Demo existing structure and haul of debris to appropriate solid waste disposal facility. Note: Asbestos containing materials will have been properly tested and abated prior to demolition under separate contract with Asbestos Removal Contractor(s). 2.3 Clear lot and properly dispose of all debris, including, but not limited to tires, household refuse, metal scrap, lawn equipment, etc. 2.4 Lot to be graded to current property contours and slope to road edge 2.5 Install silt fence as deemed appropriate. 2.6 Re-establish gravel drive/lot access. Grade and compact approximately 5 ton of stone gravel for driveway/lot access. 2.7 Optional Hydro seed post construction. III. 904 15th Street: 3.1 Clear site of trees, shrubs, and overgrown vegetation within 180' of edge of road and along property boundaries. 3.2 Grade lot in a manner suitable for new home construction creating level portion for home. 3.3 Stabilize embankments to mitigate soil erosion. 3.4 Grade, compact and apply approximately 8 ton of stone gravel for driveway/lot access. 3.5 Optional Hydro seed post construction.
