Site work and new construction of a stadium in Muscatine, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a stadium; and for site work for a stadium.

Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check or certified share draft in a separate sealed envelope, clearly marked "Bid Bond" or Bid Security", in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the proposal. The certified or cashier's check shall be drawn on a bank in Iowa or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America or the certified share draft shall be drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States and payable to the City of Muscatine. Said check or share draft may be cashed, or the bid bond forfeited as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails or refuses to enter into a contract within ten (10) days of issuance of a Notice of Award and post bond satisfactory to the City of Muscatine insuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract and maintenance of said improvements as required by law. The bid bond should be executed by a corporation authorized to contract as a surety in the State of Iowa, and must not contain any conditions either in the body or as an endorsement thereon. Construction of a new air-supported fabric structure and related Work indicated in the drawings and specifications The estimated project cost for the work is $6.5 million dollars The successful bidder will be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to one- hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City of Muscatine, and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained, the payment for materials used in the project and the maintenance of said improvements in good repair for not less than one (1) year from the time of acceptance of said improvements by the City of Muscatine. The Contractor will be paid ninety-five per cent (95%) of the Architect's/Engineer's estimate of the value of acceptable work completed at the end of the preceding month. Final payment will be made not less than thirty-one (31) days after completion of the work an Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and to hold and consider the bids for 45 days after the date of the bid opening. The contract will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder. Project information has been provided in an RFP letter prepared by ISG, Inc. We understand that the project will consist of construction of a new 81,000 square foot air-supported dome building with a 1,000 square foot accessory building attached. We understand that structural loads are anticipated to be in the range of 3-5 kips per lineal foot for the vertical tensile loading and in the range of 1-3 kip per lineal foot for the horizontal loading. Loads of 3 kips per lineal foot or less are anticipated for the accessory building. Based on the existing grades, it appears that cut and fill on the order of 2 to 3 feet may be required to achieve the desired final grades at this site.
