Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of the written notice to proceed and shall be completed by October 29, 2023. Liquidated damages in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period. The Contractor shall procure at the Contractor's own expense all necessary licenses and permits of a temporary nature and shall give due and adequate notice to those in control of all licenses and easements for permanent structures or permanent changes in existing facilities shall be provided by the Owner unless otherwise specified.
