Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in West Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.
Improvements at the existing MidAmerican Energy RecPlex facility located at 6500 Grand Avenue in West Des Moines. Improvements include general construction, mechanical, and electric work. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Additionally, the contractor must provide the City with a guarantee of maintenance of said improvement in the form of surety for a period of one (1) year from the time of acceptance by the City. Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of the written notice to proceed and shall be completed by March 29, 2024. Liquidated damages in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive any and/or all technicalities and/or all irregularities.
