**As of April 21 the project was awarded to Scotty’s Contracting & Stone for $3,156,493.70 . Bidders must have attended the Pre-Bid Meeting to bid this project. The City of Madisonville is accepting competitive sealed bids for the extension of Midtown Boulevard a total distance of approximately 0.256 miles. Construction will consist of a threelane roadway with curb & gutter and sidewalks. All bidders shall be prequalified with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and possess a Certificate of Eligibility at the time of the bid opening. All subcontractors shall be prequalified with the Cabinet prior to accepting subcontracts. Bidders who submit bids as the prime contractor shall note that they must perform with their own organization work amounting to no less than 40 percent of the total contract cost. A bid bond of no less than 5% of the total bid price is required along with the bid submittal. The project will be administered and constructed to the standards set forth in the current edition of the Kentucky Department of Highways Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and all applicable standard drawings, special notes, and supplemental specifications released by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet at the time of the letting.
