The work to be done consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and incidentals, as required by the Plans (City Drawing Number 1153 Sheets 1 through 108), Specifications, and Contract Documents, for the construction of four soundwalls S298, S300, S318 and S326. The work includes approximately 3,200 linear feet of block soundwalls on CIDH piles, concrete barrier on CIDH piles, and on retaining wall and tunnel structures. Additional work items are, but not limited to electrical, barrier rail and fence removal, traffic control, bridge and retaining wall barrier reconstruction, landscaping, and irrigation; and clean up and leave in an operable and acceptable condition all work and other items not mentioned that are required by the Plans and Specifications. This project includes an additive alternative work for Soundwall Construction on I-210, Phase II that consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and incidentals, as required by the Plans (City Drawing Number 1152 Sheets 1 through 25), Specifications, and Contract Documents, for the construction of one soundwall S307. The work includes approximately 1,180 linear feet of block soundwall on CIDH piles. Additional work items are, but not limited to electrical, barrier rail and fence removal, landscaping, and irrigation; and clean up and leave in an operable and acceptable condition all work and other items not mentioned that are required by the Plans and Specifications. All bidders shall be licensed in accordance with provisions of the Business and Professions Code and shall possess a State Contractor's license, Class A, at the time of bid submittal. The successful Contractor and his subcontractors will be required to possess business licenses from the City. All queries related to the Project shall be submitted electronically to the City Engineer at cityengineer@lcf.ca.gov no later than Wednesday, March 29, 2023. The last day to issue any addendum is Thursday, March 30, 2023. All Addenda, if any, will be only posted on the City website. It shall be the Bidder's responsibility to check the City website for any addenda. Any questions regarding the project shall be directed to the Public Works Department at (818) 790-8882. Each bid shall be made on the proposal form furnished by the City and shall be in accordance with the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents and shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bidder's bond, payable to the City in a sum not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the contract for the work, the full amount of such guarantee to be forfeited to the City should said bidder fail to enter into said Contract. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, and a Labor and Material Bond in an amount of not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bonds to be underwritten by sureties qualified to do business in the State of California, carrying a rating of A+ or better, in the current edition of Bests Insurance Guide. Any contract entered into pursuant to this notice will incorporate the provisions of the State Labor Code. Pursuant to the provisions of the California Labor Code Section 1773.2, the minimum prevailing rate of per diem wages for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to execute the Contract shall be those determined by the Director of Industrial Relations of the State of California, which are on file in the Public Works Department at City Hall and are available to any interested party on request.
