Demolition for an educational facility in La Mesa, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a 8,350-square-foot educational facility.
THE PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK INCLUDES THE DEMOLITION OF THE EXISTING BUILDING 1600. THE WORK WILL INCLUDE SELECT SITE DEMOLITION OF EXISTING HARDSCAPING AND PLANTER AREAS IN PREPARATION FOR THE NEW SCOPE OF WORK. THE PROPOSED WORK WILL INCLUDE A NEW BUILDING No. 1600 THAT SERVES TWO SEPARATE PROGRAMS: FOOD SERVICE & ACADEMIC SUPPORT PROGRAM. THE APPROXIMATE 3,350 S.F. FOOD SERVICE PORTION WILL INCLUDE PREP AND SERVING LINES, COOLER/FREEZER BOXES, AND DRY STORAGE. THE 5,000 S.F. ACADEMIC SUPPORT PORTION WILL INCLUDE AN ACADEMIC SUPPORT ROOM, DIRECTOR'S OFFICE, OFFICE, CONFERENCE ROOM, RESTROOMS, STORAGE ROOM, LACTATION ROOM, CUSTODIAL ROOM AND ELECTRICAL/DATA ROOM. THE TWO PORTIONS OF THE BUILDING ARE CONNECTED AT THE ROOF OVER A CANOPY SITE IMPROVEMENTS TO SUPPORT THE NEW STRUCTURES WILL INCLUDE MINIMUM CODE REQUIRED ADA PATH OF TRAVEL IMPROVEMENTS. PROPOSED SITE IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDE NEW HARDSCAPING, LANDSCAPING, ALTERATION TO PARKING LOT No. 5, IRRIGATION SYSTEM, FENCING/GATING AND TRASH ENCLOSURE. Demolition of the existing kitchen and select site hardscape. The work features a new, wood framed and sprinklered kitchen building and academic support building joined by a common roof and breezeway. The academic support building includes a new interactive space with audio visual equipment, new office spaces, restrooms, classroom space and storage. The kitchen includes a walk-in freezer, food service lines, office space and storage. In addition to the new buildings, the project includes a service yard and trash enclosure enclosed by a CMU wall. Underground wet, and dry utility improvements, temporary power, other temporary utilities, landscaping, irrigation, signage and other site work improvements.
