The Santa Cruz County Department of Community Development and Infrastructure (County) Invites Sealed Proposals for Hazardous Waste Transportation, Recycling and Disposal Services From Fully Licensed, Insured, Bonded, Certified Contractors to Furnish All Labor, Tools, Equipment, and Incidentals Required to Provide Services for the Santa Cruz County Department of Community Development and Infrastructure. The County operates three (3) Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facilities located at the Buena Vista Landfill (1231 Buena Vista Drive, Watsonville), Ben Lomond Transfer Station (9835 Newell Creek Road, Ben Lomond) and City of Santa Cruz Resource Recovery Facility (605 DiMeo Lane, Santa Cruz). These facilities serve the population of Santa Cruz County (not including City of Watsonville) and collected a combined total of 781,879 pounds of household hazardous waste and small quantity generator waste in fiscal year 2021-2022. The scope of this project shall include, but not be limited to: provide transporation, recycling and disposal services for hazardous waste collected at the Santa Cruz County household hazardous waste facilities. The term of this contract will be from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, with up to three (3) one-year annual renewals.
