The project consists of but is not limited to: Replace 46 existing boxes and lined ductwork with new VAV boxes on the first and second floor of the library. - Demolition work shall include removal of 45 existing terminal air boxes with downstream hot water reheat coils and one terminal air box with no reheat. Portions of ductwork and piping shall be removed and/or modified for new work. - New work shall include installation of 45 new VAV boxes with hot water reheat coils and one VAV box with no reheat. Ductwork and piping shall be added to connect to new VAV boxes to existing ductwork. - New isolation ball valves shall be added to the return piping for each reheat coil. New strainers shall be added to the supply piping for each reheat coil. Some heating hot water isolation valves shall be added to the main piping take-offs from the chase risers. - Heating system draining and refilling shall be necessary to perform this piping work. - Components from the existing terminal air box and hot water reheat control system shall be salvaged and reused for the new installation. The hot water control valves and air damper actuators shall be new. Bids will be received for a stipulated sum contract. Iowa Construction Sales Tax Exemption Certificates will be provided on this project. Bid security shall be agreed upon as the measure of liquidated damages which Owner will sustain by failure, neglect or refusal of bidder to deliver a signed contract stipulating performance of the work in unqualified compliance with Contract Documents or furnish the required 100% Contract Performance and Payment Bond within ten (10) days after receipt of Notice of Award. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) calendar days after the date of opening.
