Renovation of a mixed-use development in Storrs Mansfield, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The Facilities Management Department is requesting proposals from vendors to provide all materials, equipment and labor for Renovations to the Old Town Hall and Town Office Building. Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer's or cashier's check in the amount of 5% of the bid payable to the Owner, issued by a responsible bank or trust company, is required. In the event that the successful bidder refuses, fails, or is otherwise unable to enter into a contract for the work with the Owner or is otherwise in default of its bid, the amount of such bid deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages on account of such default. The selected contractor shall furnish a performance bond and payment bond in the amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, if required. Attorneys-infact who sign contract bonds must file, with each bond, a certified and effectively dated copy of their power of attorney. Certificates of Insurance may be required and must be furnished by the Contractor prior to any work being performed. The Town of Mansfield reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids; to waive any informality; or to accept any bid deemed in the best interests of the Town of Mansfield. If any bidder contemplating submitting a proposal is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of these specifications, he may submit requests for information and/or clarification in writing via e-mail to KieferM@mansfieldct.org by September 9th, 2024. Secondary email is PosoccoM@mansfieldct.org No interpretations as to the meaning of the plans, specifications, or other Contract Documents shall be made to any bidder orally. PROJECT OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE See plan documents provided with RFP. The Facilities Management Department is requesting proposals from vendors to provide all materials, equipment and labor for Renovations to the Old Town Hall and Town Office Building located at 954 Dtorrs Road (Rt195), Mansfield, Connecticut. PERMITS The Contractor is responsible for obtaining any necessary permits and paying all associated fees prior to the start of work. The Contractor shall also be responsible for ensuring that necessary inspections are scheduled and are completely satisfactorily. PROJECT CLEANLINESS A. Contractor is responsible for keeping the jobsite in neat and orderly condition during construction progress. The building interior and exterior shall be broom clean at the end of each working day. B. Contractor is responsible for waste and rubbish removal during construction. Contractor shall legally dispose all construction debris as per State/Federal Law. Contractor shall provide dumpster for storage of debris. C. The building shall receive a final thorough cleaning prior to completion. D. The Contractor shall guarantee their work and the work of all subcontractors for a period of time to be agreed upon by the Contractor and the Town. E. Representatives of the Contractor and the Town shall participate in a final site visit upon completion of the work.
