SCOPE OF WORK 1. Remove and reinstall existing furniture in each unit for flooring installation. 2. Demolition to remove all existing flooring, excess glue, and base on the third and fourth floors noted by "HATCH". 3. To prep concrete floors after removal of existing flooring. Apply floor patch as required for a smooth surface. 4. Furnish and install new flooring and base in rooms where existing flooring was removed. 5. Clean all areas leaving it dust free. Damp mop all flooring after installation. 6. Haul off all construction debris. The use of University dumpsters is prohibited Each bidder MUST accompany his/her proposal with a bid security for five percent (5%) of the total maximum amount of his/her bid. The bid security shall be drawn in favor of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and SHALL be in the form of a Bid Bond (Insurance Company), Bank Money Order*, Certified Check* or Cashier's Check*. Successful bidder WILL BE required to execute and deliver within ten (10) days of notification, a satisfactory performance bond and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Also, to be provided at the same time is a Labor and Materials payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Contractors or contracting firms submitting bids in the amount of $50,000.00 or more shall certify that they are licensed contractors under Chapter 24 of Title 37 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes 1950 and show their license Due to the Importance of the Schedule, Liquidated Damages in the Amount of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) Per Day Will Be Assessed for Every Calendar Day That This Project is Not Complete Beyond One Hundred Eighty (180) Days of the Notice to Proceed. The Owner will have the right to retain the bid security of Bidders until either (a) the Contract has been executed and bonds have been furnished, or (b) the specified time has elapsed so that bids may be withdrawn, or (c) all bids have been rejected. Demolition Contractor shall perform any and all demolition necessary to prepare the entire area, including but not limited to, flooring and base, etc., as necessary for construction and finishes called for in the specifications for the new floor plan and finishes.
