Addition to a mixed-use development in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the addition of a 5,250-square-foot military facility.
Design/Build proposal to expand the Recruit Clothing Issue Warehouse, Building 662 at the Marine Recruit Depot in San Diego CA by 5,250 square feet to achieve separate storage space and restroom to comply with HQMC directive to bring female recruits to MCRD San Diego. The existing facility was built in 2007 and is 49,290.76 square feet. The newly created warehouse space will connect to the existing warehouse and issue bay through a double doorway, allowing female recruits to transit between storage/restroom area and issue bay while providing privacy for female recruits from male recruits. The new 5,250 square feet will include one female head and storage with 2 rows of government furnished racking systems. This issue bay will be designated for female use only, and will provide privacy from adjacent male issue bays. Site preparation involves removing irrigation system, landscaping and utility work, and site improvements involves new landscaping. Roof and exterior appearance will match existing finishes of B-662. Trades Involved Include: Demolition, Site Grading, BMP's, Underground Utilities(water/sewer/gas/electric/communications), Concrete, Masonry, Misc. Metals, Roof Trusses, metal decking, roof insulation, roof covering, gutters/downspouts, Doors/Frames/hardware, Steel Stud Framing, Drywall, Painting, Acoustical Ceiling Tiles, porcelain tile, Epoxy flooring, Bathroom Accessories, Signage, fire suppression, Plumbing, Mechanical, DDC (AWEMS), Electrical, Fire Alarm, Site Concrete, and others. Addendum #1-#4 have been issued as of 5-10-2023. *The bid list for this project may be incomplete. Areas affected by repair/construction will be in compliance with applicable ATFP, Fire Suppression, Seismic, Accessibility, ASHRAE, and LEEDs codes and standards (as required) upon completion of the project.
