Demolition and site work for a residential development in Vernal, Utah. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
Vernal City is soliciting proposals from eligible firms to provide demolition services to remove two city owned buildings in downtown Vernal: 94 E Main Street - former Showalter building / auto shop 54 South 100 East - shed & fence behind former Basin Laundry building Questions regarding this RFP should be directed to Quinn Bennion, City Manager, at qbennion@vernalcity.org Project Scope of Work In general, this project includes the demolition and removal of the structures, concrete slabs, concrete foundations, fences and signs. The scope of work is detailed further with Attachment A. Map and scope of work outlined for 94 E. Main St - former Showalter building / auto body shop. Pictures of the building included. Attachment B. Map and scope of work outlined for 54 S. 100 E. - former shed behind the Basin Laundry building. Pictures of the shed & fence included. As identified in the Attachments, the scope of work includes: 1. Contractor must be a licensed Utah contractor 2. 94 E. Main St property - former Showalter building a. Removal of the entire structure b. Removal of the footings, concrete floor slab, all foundations and concrete pit walls. No backfill required. c. Remove abandoned light pole and A1 used car sign on NW corner (protect from damaging neighboring building) d. Asphalt pads on west, north and south to remain e. Remove all fences and gates. Fill post holes with soil or gravel. f. Remove shrubs and trees on site (not Main Street trees) g. Remove all left items and junk from site 3. 54 S. 100 E. property - a. Removal of the entire structure - shed b. Removal of the footings, concrete floor slab and all foundations for shed. No backfill required. c. Remove abandoned two light poles within yard d. Remove all fences and gates (after April 30 or in coordination with vehicle owner). Fences include razor wire, posts, concrete bases. Fill post holes with soil or gravel. e. Remove shrubs and trees on site except for West line behind the garage buildings f. Remove all left items and junk from site 4. Other requirements during demolition: a. Contractor to protect the city sidewalks on Main Street, 100 East and 100 South as much as possible during demolition and removal, but it is recognized that the foundation and footers are in close proximity to the sidewalk. b. Contractor to keep the site safe for pedestrians on the sidewalks or barricade off the sidewalks during demolition. Contractor will keep 100 East open for vehicular traffic during project. Main Street traffic cannot be impacted by demolition activities. The parallel parking lane can be barricaded off for a short period. City will provide barricades and cones as requested. c. The selected contractor is responsible for and must file the required Air Quality demolition permit with the State DEQ. City is responsible for the City demolition permit. d. The City expects this project to be complete in May 2023 in preparation for the construction of a public parking lot. Contractors must include their completion date in their proposal.
