VT WO# 23-574213, 2204565 Virginia Tech is seeking sealed bids for the replacement of an MRI at Room 129 of the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine located at 245 Duckpond Drive Blacksburg, VA 24061. Please see IFB document 952642309 for additional details and drawings. Sealed bids are invited for the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine MRI Replacement Room 129 at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia. The project is generally described replacing the existing MRI with a new Siemens Magnetom Vida MRI. This work will include new ceilings, lights, wall/floor finishes, electrical feeds, EPO controls, BAS control modifications and RF Shielding restoration as detailed in the construction documents. All equipment, materials, labor, and services necessary for the installation of complete systems shall be provided. The cutoff date for pre-bid questions will be 2:00 PM, April 11, 2023. A Bid Bond and Contract Security will be required of all bidders regardless of bid amount. Procedures for submitting a bid, claiming an error, withdrawal of bids and other pertinent information are contained in the Instructions to Bidders, which is part of the Invitation for Bids. Withdrawal due to error in bid shall be permitted in accord with Section 9 of the Instructions to Bidders and 2.2-4330, Code of Virginia. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The contract shall be awarded on a lump sum basis as follows: the Total Base Bid Amount including any properly submitted and received bid modifications plus such successive Additive Bid Items as the Owner in its discretion decides to award in the manner set forth in Paragraph 12 of the Instructions to Bidders. Notice of Award' or 'Notice of Intent to Award' will be posted on eVA, Virginia Department of General Services' central electronic procurement website. The University has established SWaM business target goals of utilizing at least 50% Virginia certified small businesses for this construction project. This target utilization is in accordance and in support of Virginia Governor Northam's Executive Order 35 released July 3, 2019. EO35 requires establishment of a target goal of 50 percent subcontracting to small businesses on any construction project. If an awarded firm is already a certified Virginia SWaM business, this target goal will be considered met. The university will not suppress any firm from participating on a project if it meets the requirements as set forth in the terms and conditions of the Bid. Instead, should a business participating in the project, either as a prime contractor or a subcontractor, not be qualified to be certified through the Commonwealth of Virginia as a small business, the university cannot report the spend with that firm for this project toward its 50% targeted goal of utilization of small businesses on all university construction projects.
