A. All work shall be performed by trained, properly supervised personnel in accordance with accepted horticultural practices. Chemicals will be applied in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and by licensed personnel. B. Materials shall be applied in accordance with manufacturers' directions. C. Adequate personnel and equipment shall be provided to permit the timely completion of all operations. D. The specification provides for the maintenance of all landscaped areas denoted on Map 1. The type and frequency of maintenance is defined in the following sections and is intended to promote a healthy landscape environment. E. The removal and proper disposal of organic landscape waste and debris, generated by landscape maintenance operations shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. The Contractor shall accept instructions, either verbal or written, only from authorized personnel of the Public Works Department of the Village of Round Lake, Illinois, or in the case of emergencies, from the Village of Round Lake Police Department and Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District. The Contractor shall be responsible for the proper and safe protection of his/her work at all times during the time the contract is in force. Submittals that do not acknowledge addendums may be rejected. All responses are to be submitted in a sealed envelope. Envelopes are to be clearly marked with required submittal information. The Village of Round Lake is seeking bids from quality landscape contractors to provide landscape maintenance services on various Village properties. The services will mainly consist of mowing, shrub pruning, weeding, mulch installation, leaf pickup, fertilization, and other tasks as outlined in the Bid Documents. 1 Inquiries for clarification or additional information should be emailed to awedoff@roundlakeil.gov. All questions shall be submitted no less than seven (7) days prior to the BID opening date. The Village may modify the above schedule if needed. It is expressly understood that all bids will be valid for a period of ninety (90) days after submission. Awards shall be made to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidders, who best meets the specifications including - financial capacity to perform, experience and qualifications performing similar work, scheduling and availability to perform the work within the time allowed. The Village, its officials, employees, agents, and volunteers are to be covered as additional insureds as respects: liability arising out of the BIDDER'S work, including activities performed by or on behalf of the BIDDER; his agents, representatives, employees or subcontractors; Additional insured coverage to include ongoing, products and completed operations of the BIDDER, his agents, representatives, employees or subcontractors products and completed operations of the BIDDER; premises owned, leased or used by the BIDDER; or automobiles owned, leased, hired or borrowed by the BIDDER. The coverage shall contain no special limitations on the scope of protection afforded to the Village, its officials, employees, agents, and volunteers. Except as required by emergencies the Contractor shall restrict their normal working operations to between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. or sundown, whichever is earlier, Monday thru Friday, except that these limits may be extended up to one-half hour for the purpose of setting up or removing temporary traffic work on Saturday, Sunday or any legal holiday except for work of an emergency nature.
