A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Town of Windham has received a grant from State of Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection to obtain professional services for the design of the Willimantic 911 Dispatch center. The Willimantic Switchboard is a 911 Public Safety Answering Point located adjacent to the Emergency Operation Center within the Public Safety complex in Willimantic, CT, serving Willimantic Fire & Police Department, three Windham Volunteer Fire Departments (VFD), Franklin VFD and Windham Community Memorial Hospital medics. This project will make much needed upgrades to its infrastructure and technology in order to more effectively serve its communities. Professional fees shall be based on providing a complete Architectural and Engineering (A/E) services based on Exhibit A and Exhibit B. Design shall include architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection to renovate the existing dispatch center which includes a new ADA Restroom and Office. The structural design shall include a new roof mounted radio antenna approximately 40 feet in height. The construction manager will be selected concurrently with the A/E team, and together with the owner's project manager, the project consultants will finalize a project schedule. The A/E firm shall submit with their proposal a design schedule. Project completion and owner turnover is projected for November 2023 RFI's shall be due no later than April 6, 2023, 12pm and emailed to Vincent Salines, vincent.salines@stvinc.com and Harshitha Adapala, harshitha.adapala@stvinc.com. It is expected that RFPQ/RFP responses will be reviewed, and a short list of firms developed by April 17, 2023. Interviews with short-listed firms may be scheduled from April 19 - April 21. A/E team selection will be made by April 24, 2023, and work will begin no later than May 1, 2023.
