Layton Construction has been selected to build the University of Utah Health West Valley Health and Community Center in West Valley, UT and is soliciting proposals for a value-based selection of subcontracting firms for Mechanical and Electrical trades. This is a public project and this is an open invitation to all qualifying contractors. The successful Subcontractor will support the project team and participate in a design-assist capacity to provide preconstruction services for the entire project. The goal of selecting design-assist trade partners (referred to from now-on as the Subcontractor) during the design period is to reduce RFI’s, work towards the goal of zero change orders and deliver the project within the construction Target Value Budget. It is the Owners intent to award the successful Subcontractor the construction services for the Hospital, Central Utility Plant, Tunnels, Connector and Sitework. Preconstruction Services awarded as part of this RFP will include the Ambulatory Building, Hospital, Central Utility Plant, Tunnels, Connector and Sitework. However, the construction services for the Ambulatory Building will not be awarded as part of this RFP. Subcontractor bids for the construction services for the Ambulatory Building will be solicited at the completion of the design and the construction will be awarded in a future value based selection. The West Valley Health and Community Center includes a 9-story hospital with a total building area of 525,622 square feet, 7-story ambulatory building with a total building area of 197,721 square feet, a 2-story 24,141 square foot central utility plant and 21.62 acres of site development.
