The Nestucca, Neskowin, and Sand Lake Watersheds Council is soliciting bids from contractors experienced in placement of large wood for in-stream habitat restoration. The contract awarded under this invitation to bid is subject to BOLI prevailing wage law. All bidders shall submit their last questions to nnwc@nestuccawaters.org no later than 10:00 am on April 3, 2023, so that a Bid Addendum may be issued if needed without altering the bid date. This project requires the services of a contractor to place and/or assemble up to 74 76 individual placements and large wood (log) in-streamhabitatstructuresfor fish and ecological function on three tributaries of Sand Lake in Tillamook County asfollows: eight (8) nine (9) individual wood placements or structures in and adjacent to the mainstem channel of Sand Creek (see maps), thirty-five (35) individual wood placements or structures in and adjacent to the mainstem channel of Andy Creek (see maps), and thirty (30) -two (32) individual wood placements orstructuresin and adjacent to the mainstem channel of Jewel Creek (see maps). Key pieces in individual placements and in structures are to be large (30' plus, ~20" plus dbh plus, boles with attached root wads, with key pieces to be ballasted by rootlesslogs of similar dimensions. All wood/logs will be stockpiled at staging locations by the Contracting Officer at landings/locations within 1/3 mile of placement sites prior to the commencement of work on any of the streams. Any on-site trees that require removal in order for equipment to access the placement sites may be utilized to reduce compaction and soil impacts in transportroutes, for temporary stream crossings, and/orin the individual placements and structures.
