SCOPE OF WORK The work shall consist of the following in accordance with the "IDAHO STANDARDS for PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION MANUAL" (I.S.P.W.C. Latest Edition) 5" A/C MAT to be pave first with a 3" mat, and then a 2" mat at the following locations: 1. South Slope Road: Approximately 1,900 tons of Asphalt as described. Approximately 2,500 feet in length X 25 feet in width. 2. West Sales Yard Road & Airport Road Approximately 1,300 tons of Asphalt as describe. Approximately 1,700 feet in length X 25 feet in width. Asphalt Mat shall consist of asphaltic material Class III, 1/2 inch PG 58-28 oil, and shall conform to the I.S.P.W.C. MANUAL. Mats shall be placed with a Paver (lay down machine) and smooth transitions shall be made at both ends of the overlay projects. The contractor shall provide a grade crew to prep for a final grade prior to paving both locations. The contractor shall provide material testing and shall be in conformance with the "MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES" (M.U.T.C.D Latest Edition). The contractor shall provide Gem County Road & Bridge Department with weight tickets as each truck arrives at the project site. BID SURETY Each Bidder is required to provide a Bid Surety in the amount of 5% of their bid. Failure to include the bond or check made payable to Gem County will result in rejection of the bid. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS Performance and Payment Bonds are required for the full amount of the bid. The Performance Bonds and Payment Bonds may be in the form of a cashier's check, irrevocable line of credit, or a bond made out to Gem County. Also, evidence shall be presented that the successful bidder has liability insurance. COMPLETION DATE Time is of the essence in these projects. Bidders must assure in the bidding documents that the following completion dates will be met: 1. South Slope Road. The 26th day of May, 2023. 2. West Salesyard Road and Airport Road. The 28th day of August, 2023. Addenda will be issued based upon inquiries received. Addenda will be posted to the Gem County Website by 5:00pm on the 13th day of April, 2023. Gem County reserves the right to reject any or all bids received and without readvertising to let a contract for the entire, or any part of, the proposed project to any persons at the terms which for any reason are the most advantageous for the County.
