This is a Multi-Step Invitation to Bid (MS-IFB) for Design-Build Construction Services for a new campus-wide Fire Alarm and Mass Notification System (FA/MNS) for the Maryland School for the Deaf, at 8169 Old Montgomery Road, Ellicott City, Maryland 21043. The project involves the design, partial demolition and new construction of a FA/MNS in three campus buildings as follows: the demolition and removal from the site of existing wiring, conduit, devices and any other fire alarm and related components not retained in the new design; the reconfiguration and installation of new components of a mass notification system with emphasis on visual and textural information as well as audible notification; existing fire alarm system upgrades to create an integrated FA/MNS; Owner training and proficiency in operation of the FA/MNS; and ongoing pre-testing of the system operation prior to requesting review by the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal (FM). Compliance with State codes and regulations, as well as National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulations, is required.
