Request for Information on snow clearing The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is pleased to announce that a set of snow removal Request for Proposals (RFPs) will be forthcoming in Spring 2023. The RFPs will cover a range of snow and ice services: o De-icing treatment and snow removal from pedestrian areas (walkways, station platforms, etc.) o De-icing treatment and snow removal from bus stops and bus stop shelters o Plowing of bus yards o Plowing of busways Multi-year contracts will be awarded, with start dates next snow season (~November 1st, 2023). The service areas are located on or near the MBTA Subway and MBTA Bus network. All areas are within Greater Boston. Each RFP will outline specific requirements and expectations for the services being requested. Interested parties are encouraged to review the RFPs and submit proposals that meet the stated requirements. The RFPs will be made available to the public via portal and will also be distributed through various industry channels.
