Removal and reconstruction of the blast pad will be done in coordination with the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority's Field Maintenance department and staff. The Gerald R. Ford International Airport is the second busiest airport in Michigan, serving business and leisure travelers with nonstop and connecting flights on six airlines. Ford International Airport Authority is requesting bids from qualified firms to rehabilitate, remove, and reconstruct 1 existing runway blast pad. This blast pad is listed on the approach end of runway 8R. All work will be done in conjunction with other airfield projects that will close specific surfaces when required. The timeline listed in this solicitation allows for work to be done within the closures required for other work, thus allowing quicker and safer access to the worksite.
