The project is located on a 6.9-acre site identified as Tax Map Sequence (TMS) # 155-00-01-054, adjacent to Water Tower Road, in North Myrtle Beach, Horry County, South Carolina (Latitude: 33.8096, Longitude: -78.7939), Hand Quad. PROPOSED WORK: The proposed work consists of the construction of a new fire station. In detail, the work consists of placing 2,900 cubic yards of clean earthen fill material into 0.89 acres of freshwater wetlands for the construction of the proposed fire station and attendant features to include parking areas, entrance, and landscaping. The applicant has proposed to mitigate for impacts to wetlands by purchasing 6.75 wetland mitigation credits from the Carter Stilley Mitigation Bank and preserving the remaining 4.2 acres of onsite wetlands and enhance the preservation with a 50-foot-wide upland buffer totaling 0.6-acre.
