Renovation of a fire / police facility in Downey, California. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
1. Remove existing assumed 6" concrete and haul to legal dumpsite approximately 10,152 SF 2. Replace with 6-inch-thick concrete using a 3,000 PSI Concrete Mix with Fiber Mesh additive on native soil and a medium broom finish (Approximately 10,152 SF) 3. Install a 12" long, half-inch smooth dowel every 24" on center and epoxy with Simpson XP. Embed a minimum of 4 inches at existing concrete. 4. Scarify existing subgrade a minimum of 8". Water condition and recompact to 90% density. No pumping or deflection of subgrade. Proof roll with a Supper-10. 5. Soft cut joints a minimum depth of 1-1/2 inches. Soft cut joints should be spaced a maximum of 12 feet on center each way. Alternate Add: A. Replace additional section(s) with 6-inch-thick concrete using a 3,000 PSI Concrete Mix with Fiber Mesh additive on native soil and a medium broom finish (Approximately 840 SF) B. Install a 12" long, half-inch smooth dowel every 24" on center and epoxy with Simpson XP. Embed a minimum of 4 inches at existing concrete. C. Scarify existing subgrade a minimum of 8". Water condition and recompact to 90% density. No pumping or deflection of subgrade. Proof roll with a Supper-10. D. Soft cut joints a minimum depth of 1-1/2 inches.
