If the contract amount exceeds $25,000 and wages are paid in the performance of the work, California Civil Code Section 9550 requires the Contractor to provide a payment bond in 100% of the contract amount in form satisfactory to the City Attorney. If the contract amount is $25,000 or less, the City does not require a payment bond.
