The City of Louisville is seeking highly qualified contractors for coating services at the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) for coating of three (3) 60 foot diameter secondary clarifier mechanisms. Existing clarifier mechanisms are galvanized steel and corroding. Coating work includes abrasive blasting of all mechanism surfaces with full containment, pit filling of metal as needed, prime coat, stripe coat of edges/corners, intermediate coat, and topcoat. Coating work includes the surface preparation and coating of existing galvanized steel clarifier mechanisms that are currently experiencing corrosion. Note that selected contractor will need to work around plant operations. Only one clarifier will be offline at any given time for coating services. Mobilization: Setup of tools, equipment, and personnel. Preparation: Surface preparation of existing galvanized steel per SSPC SP-10 with 2.0 mil or greater anchor profile (profiles the existing galvanizing while removing corrosion). Pit Filling: Apply Tnemec Series 215 Surface Epoxy as needed. Stripe Coat: Apply 2-5 dry mils of Tnemec Liner Series 61.
