**As of May 3, 2023, this project has been awarded to DMS Contracting, Inc. in the amount of $1,027,793.50. The City of Edwardsville reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals. Bituminous material cost adjustments will be made to provide additional compensation to the Contractor, or credit to the project owner, for fluctuations in the cost of bituminous materials when optioned by the Contractor. The bidder shall indicate on the attached form whether or not this special provision will be part of the contract and submit the completed form with his/her bid. Failure to submit the form, or failure to fill out the form completely, shall make this contract exempt of bituminous materials cost adjustments. Prequalification by the Illinois Department of Transportation is required. This work consists of driveway and parking pavements, on-grade slabs, walks, curbs, retaining walls, foundations, brush, debris, related items, and utilities at the location shown in the plans. Perform demolition in such a manner as to eliminate hazards to persons and property; to minimize interference with use of adjacent areas, utilities and structures or interruption of use of such utilities; and to provide free passage to and from such adjacent areas of structures. Provide safeguards, including warning signs, barricades, temporary fences, warning lights, and other similar items that are required for protection of all personnel during demolition and removal operations. Maintain fences, barricades, lights, and other similar items around exposed excavations until such excavations have been completely filled. Keep hydrants clear and accessible at all times. Prohibit debris from accumulating within a radius of 15 feet of fire hydrants. The proposed Hillsboro Avenue project includes roadway and drainage improvements from Hickory Street at the west end to Bunn Avenue at the east end. Improvements will include demolition of structures, channel excavation, flume and riprap installation, storm sewer removal and replacement, sanitary sewer removal and replacement, curb and gutter removal and replacement, driveway removal and replacement, and ADA sidewalk improvements
