Demolition, site work, remodeling, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Lubbock, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and for the addition of a 180,000-square-foot educational facility.

A. General: Without force or effect, Work of Project consists of approximately 180,000 sq. ft. of new construction for a new high school. This is Phase 2 of all Phases to this overall building and campus. Phase 2 is an addition to Phase 1, currently completing construction. Phase 2 incorporates a 2-story academic wing, art labs, cosmetology lab, Ag and Building Trade Shops, Fine Arts classrooms, Black Box, Band, and Choir spaces. Utilizing Type IB Construction, all portions of the building are above grade. Site work for parking, fire lanes, utilities and other aspects of the site are included. B. Phasing: In addition to Phase 2, other construction Phases, not part of this Work of the Project, are planned for the main high school building and the balance of the High School Campus. All Work noted below is incorporated into Phase 2. 1. Earthwork, Utilities, and Roadways a. Utility connections to existing utilities will be completed b. Earthwork will include grading of the building pad and other areas of parking and roadways. c. Roadways necessary for the occupancy of Phase 2 will be developed. These roadways include concrete paved internal roads and concrete fire lanes around the main building with temporary pavement sections as required by the local jurisdiction for first responder access. 2. Foundations, Structure, and Building Shell: a. Foundations will include piers with grade beams to support all vertical construction. b. Structure: Floor slabs vary between 5 to 6 inches in thickness at on-grade and steel supported conditions. The primary structure of the building is structural steel framing with some long-span steel members and conventional steel decks. The structure is to be fire protected in various methods identified in the Work. c. Building Shell: Exterior wall assemblies include engineered cold-formed metal studs supported by a steel structure. Exterior wall finishes and systems include face brick, glass-fiber reinforced concrete panels, aluminum composite metal panels, curtainwall and glazing assemblies. Roofing consists of CTEM roofing over rigid insulation and steel decking. d. Equipment: A 3-stop MRL hydraulic elevator will be provided including associated specialties. 3. Building Core and Landscaping a. Building Core: Interior systems include concrete masonry partitions, metal stud and drywall, glazed partitions and storefront, operable glass folding walls, and various suspended drywall and acoustical ceiling types. Miscellaneous metals, railings, floor and wall covering systems are throughout. Doors, hardware, and associated work will be incorporated into this package. Terrazzo, carpet tile, LVT, and other systems will be used throughout. Various fire rating systems will be used for the Type IB construction. b. Mechanical/Plumbing: HVAC systems will be rooftop and ground mounted units. Mini-split systems will be used for specialty spaces such as LAN rooms and other areas. Roof drainage will be conveyed into piped control points and coordinated with landscaped features. A wet-pipe fire sprinkler system will be installed throughout. c. Electrical/Telecommunications: New transformers and electrical distribution devices will be provided. General illumination is achieved with LED lamps. d. Shop and Cosemtology equipment is to be procured as a part of the construction Project. e. Landscaping includes fine grading, irrigation, irrigation pump houses and wells, soft scapes, trees, and paved surfaces. f. Parking lot paving and striping is to be provided. Concrete parking lots will have integrated drainage and curbs associated with the overall Work. Every request for such interpretation should be in writing addressed to the Construction Manager as identified in the Request for Proposals and, to be given consideration, must be received at least five business days prior to the time fixed for the opening of Proposals Question Deadline 04/27/2023 *Addendum #1, #2 , #3, #4, #5 and #6 have been released.
