Renovation of a detention facility in Newton, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

Scope: The work scope is on three buildings; the NCF Building K (Admin), the CRC Boiler Roof the CRC Dorms 1 & 2 roofs. 1. The Building K roof is approximately 7,700 sq ft. and includes existing ballast removal, membrane and insulation tear off, and roof replacement. The new roof system will be 1/2" gypsum substrate board, with adhered polyisocyanurate insulation and a 60 mil TPO membrane. All fascias and gutters will be removed and replaced with new aluminum trim. 2. The CRC Dorms 1 & 2 roofs are approximately 10,300 sq. ft. Scope consists of membrane and insulation tear off, and roof replacement. Work scope on the Dorm 1 & 2 roofs includes abatement of ACM materials on the existing metal deck asphaltic vapor barrier, 1/2" gypsum substrate board, with adhered polyisocyanurate insulation and a 60 mil TPO membrane. All fascias will be removed and replaced with new prefinished metal trim. Work also includes roof drain repairs and some gutters. In addition, there is tuck pointing on two courses of brick around the roof perimeter. 3. Contractor to carry an additional $15,000 allowance for removal of ACM materials outside of the already included abatement in this scope. 4. CRC Boiler Roof is approximately 732 sq. ft. The work scope is to replace the metal roof panels and associated trim. Metal roof panels will be a standard 1 1/4" PBR roof panel. Work includes metal trim, flashings, and downspouts. This project is exempt from Iowa Sales Tax. Davis Bacon Wages will not apply to this project. Direct all inquiries to the construction manager. Addendum #1 has been issued 5-8-2023.
