Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Cottleville, Missouri. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
All Addendums must be acknowledged by the Contractor. Failure to acknowledge and incorporate addenda issued for the project may make the bid nonresponsive and not eligible for award consideration. Verification that bidders received and incorporated all addenda issued for the project must be evident in the submitted bidding documents. 1) The final completion date for the project has been extended to July 28, 2023 to allow adequate time for the seal coat. I acknowledge receipt of this Bid Addendum. I further acknowledge that the Bid Proposal submitted for this project incorporates the information contained Question Deadline 04/28/2023 SCOPE OF SERVICES Scope This project will consist of the removal and replacement of approximately two thousand three hundred and eighty (2,380) square yards of asphaltic concrete. The removed portions will be replaced with eight (8) inches type 5 rock base and three (3) inches of asphaltic concrete (BP-1). In addition, six (6) inch asphalt curbs will be constructed in Legacy Park. After the replacement areas have been completed for thirty (30) days, the parking lots will be crack sealed and two (2) coats of a seal coat will be applied. The project will also consist of the installation of a four (4) inch perforated underdrain. The locations are shown in Exhibit B.The alternate project would consist of the use of an asphalt pavement repair mastic to seal large cracks and map cracking in the drive aisles around City Hall. The alternate project would also consist of the removal and replacement of approximately five hundred thirty-nine (539) square yards of asphaltic concrete. The removed portions will be replaced with eight (8) inches type 5 rock base and three (3) inches of asphaltic concrete (BP-1). In addition, six (6) inch asphalt curbs will be constructed in Legacy Park. After the replacement areas have been completed for thirty (30) days, the parking lots will be crack sealed and two (2) coats of a seal coat will be applied. If the alternate is chosen, the areas that have been sealed with the asphalt pavement repair mastic will not be crack sealed and will receive no seal coat. The project will also consist of the installation of a four (4) inch perforated underdrain. Job Specific Specifications 1. Asphaltic Concrete a. Existing Asphalt Pavement will not be removed more than four (4) days prior to paving. b. Must be a BP-1 mix. c. Must consist of three (3) inches of asphaltic concrete after compaction. d. The mix design must meet the standards outlined in St. Charles County's 2020 Arterial Highway Construction Specifications. e. Asphaltic concrete must be placed on eight (8) inches of compacted type 5 rock. f. Asphaltic concrete will be paid by the square yard. 2. Saw Cutting a. Saw cutting must be full depth to ensure protection of adjacent pavement to remain in place. b. Only saw cutting of existing pavement prior to removal will be paid for under this item and only at the direction of the City of Cottleville. c. Saw cutting will be paid at the bid price per linear foot. 3. Asphalt Curb a. The curb shall be placed in position on a clean tacked surface. b. An automatic curb machine that shapes and compacts the mixture must be used. c. Exhibit C shows the cross section that must be used. d. Asphalt curb will be paid by the linear foot. 4. Crack Seal a. The work shall consist of all traffic control, labor, material, and equipment to clean, seal, and squeegee all joints and cracks in the pavement. b. A hot poured elastic-type crack sealer must be used. c. Material for sealing joints shall be a polymer based hot-poured elastic type meeting specification requirements of ASTM D6690 Type I and/or ASTM D6690 Type II. The product shall be comprised of at least 5% crumb rubber. d. The sealant shall be supplied in solid form which, when melted and properly squeegeed, forms a resilient and adhesive compound that will effectively seal cracks in asphaltic concrete. e. Payment will be based on square yard of asphaltic pavement. Measurement of individual joints and cracks will not be made. 5. Seal Coat a. Must use SealMaster LP Sealer or an approved equivalent. If an equivalent will be used, documentation demonstrating that it is equivalent must accompany the bid. b. Seal coat shall be a polymer modified, clay-stabilized, mineral filled emulsion sealcoat
