Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Burbank, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The Olive Avenue and Magnolia Boulevard bridges were built in the 1950s with barrier railings at a height of 39 inches. These barrier railings are currently substandard and carry hundreds of pedestrians each day across the bridges. The Olive Bridge has the most foot traffic due to the vertical connection to the Metrolink station. The Magnolia Bridge currently has development projects underway on either end and should see a significant increase in pedestrian traffic once the development projects are complete. This project is included in the City of Burbank's FY 2022-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of May 18, 2023, information regarding a design team or a general contractor is not available. Design and construction is anticipated in 2023.* *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
