Deadline for All Questions: April 26, 2023 The work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the removal the existing pavement (concrete and asphalt), sidewalk, curbs and partial removal of the existing stone masonry spandrel wall. This removal will include the complete removal and disposal of all large concrete blocks, pavement, abandoned utilities, and unused excavation whether indicated the Plans or not. The existing bridge railings, the slate sidewalk and slate curbs will be carefully removed, rehabilitated and reused. Details for this work are included on the plans and in these Special Provisions. The rehabilitation will include the construction of a reinforced concrete slab above the existing two-barrel stone masonry arch, void repairs, and rehabilitation of the stone masonry spandrel walls and intrados. The proposed cross section at the bridge will consist of two travel lanes, and two sidewalks, Washington DC Bridge Railing, and refurbished historic ornamental cast iron pedestrian railing. The superstructure will consist of a reinforced concrete deck slab section. The maintenance of the stream flow shall be according to Section 501 of the Specifications. During construction, temporary supports shall be used to structurally support the stone masonry spandrel walls and arches and temporary shielding shall be used to prevent material from falling into the stream. All work to be performed shall be in accordance with the Project Documents, Drawings, Specifications and Addenda if issued. The County of Mercer requests bids for rehabilitation of County Bridge #140.4 carrying Montgomery Street over Assunpink Creek in the City of Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey. The project will be constructed under a single prime contract.
