A. Work comprises of the construction of Countys Corte Madera Library HVAC Improvements Project located at 707 Meadowsweet Dr., Corte Madera, CA 94925. The work includes, without limitation: 1. Remove existing boiler, baseboard heaters, fin tubes, and associated pipes. 2. Remove select lights. 3. New VRF and concrete pad 4. New fan coil units per plans 5. New fresh air intake vents in wall. Air intake vents are required. 6. Expand select number (6) of light soffits to allow for new fan coil units and associated conduits 7. New electrical conduits and power runs to support new HVAC system. 8. Contractor to identify areas of dry wall removal. County of Marin will remove. Refer to Abatement Specification 028233 for additional removal protocols. B. The Work of this contract comprises construction of all the Work indicated, described in the Specifications, or otherwise required by the Contract Documents. Unless provided otherwise in the Contract Documents, all risk of loss to Work covered by Contract Documents shall rest with Contractor until Final Acceptance of the Work. Cost of maintenance of systems and equipment prior to Final Acceptance will be considered as included in prices Bid and no direct or additional payment will be made, therefore. The Work of this contract should also conform with Department of Public Works County of Marin Contract Documents and Specifications included in the project manual. Questions concerning the Bid should be submitted via Bid Express no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 The project includes and is not limited to: the removal of original boiler and hydronic heating elements, procurement of equipment, construction of new drywall soffits, installation of new electric HVAC system, installation of smoke dampers and sensors connected to existing fire alarm panel, installation of makeup air fan systems and sensors, sheet metal, dry wall and plywood patching and painting to affected areas, plumbing and electrical alterations as needed per the plans and specifications. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class B or C20 Contractors License at time of bid submittal. A Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount payable to the County of Marin shall accompany the Proposal. The provisions of California Public Contract Code 22300, regarding substitution of securities for monies withheld to ensure performance shall apply to this contract. This project is to be advertised pursuant to Public Contract Code 22037.
