Renovation of an educational facility in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Replace existing fan coil units, disconnect switches, thermostats, and associated control valves for the chilled water and heating hot water feed lines. New access doors in ductwork for operation, adjustment, and maintenance of fans and mechanical equipment. Connect new controllers to the existing Metasys controls the network. The University seeks Contractors with demonstrated experience in replacement of outdated Air Handler units (AHU) and exhaust Fans (EF), mechanical infrastructure upgrades and VAV upgrades and ductwork within fully occupied operating public access research laboratory with limited project footprint. Projects should have possessed the following construction challenges: urban site with limited construction and staging areas; proactive and innovative solutions due to unknown and/or unforeseen field conditions; project complexity requiring tracking of multiple functions and phases; project complexity requiring critical path construction scheduling to complete on time; complex phasing plan development and execution and break down of major equipment to fit into confined space. Comparable projects should include specific components: building systems automated controls; replacement/renovation of outdated mechanical systems; MEP work coordination; temporary systems; major facility shut downs requiring extensive coordination with end users, and planning, scheduling and installation of mechanical and electrical systems that integrate with existing building controls.
