The project installs twelve (12) new high temperature water (HTW) valves (size ranging from 4" to 16") in various vaults, walkable tunnels, and manholes throughout Health Sciences on the west campus. The scope of work includes replacements for failed valves and new bypass piping, valves, and ball joints to minimize HTW service disruption to key research facilities within the area. Contractor shall collaborate with the University in implementing or modifying the proposed construction logistics and sequencing to ensure minimal disruption to campus facilities. Most new piping will be located in an existing underground utility tunnel. Work is anticipated to require multiple depressurization and draining outages for nominally 1,700 feet segments of the 16" main HTW campus loop. The construction must commence within the summer of 2023 and there is a portion of work that must be completed on the Labor Day weekend. The University seeks Contractors with demonstrated experience in ASME B31.1 high temperature water piping system work within operational facilities. The estimated duration of the project is 180 days.
