Renovation of an educational facility in Youngstown, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
https://www.wkbn.com/news/local-news/youngstown-news/100k-donation-to-ysu-campaign-to-include-basketball-court-renaming/ $100K donation to YSU campaign to include basketball court renaming by: Chelsea Simeon YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A $100,000 donation to a campaign to update Youngstown State University’s Kilcawley Center will support the renaming of one of the basketball courts in the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center. The donation was made by Jim and Melissa DiBacco, longtime supporters of YSU, according to a news release from the university. “We’re proud to contribute to a place that has played such an important role in our community and in our family’s life,” said Jim DiBacco in a statement. “This gift is a small way for us to give back to YSU, which has provided so much to our community and to the students who make it thrive.” In 2018, the DiBaccos helped fund an expansion at the Rich Center for Autism, and they have also donated $420,000 for the Jim and Melissa DiBacco Family Leadership Center in Stambaugh Stadium. Their latest gift to the “Kilcawley: Centered on the Future Campaign” further highlights their dedication to enhancing student life and educational opportunities, said Scott Schulick, chair of campaign. Built in 1965, Kilcawley Center is located in the heart of campus and has student dining and meeting spaces, as well as housing The Jambar student newspaper, IT Service Desk and Graphic Services. The university said renovations are needed and estimated the entire project to cost around $43 million. Construction is expected to begin in the spring. ______________________________________________________________________________________ The bid date is January 8, 2025. There will be a pre-bid conference on December 10, 2024. The construction documents are available at Rollers Reprographics in North Lima, Ohio. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Submit all questions regarding this RFQ in writing to Richard White at rmwhite@ysu.edu with the project number included in the subject line (no phone calls please). Questions will be answered and posted to the Opportunities page on the OFCC website Constructed in 1964, Kilcawley Center has had several minor renovations over the years but has not seen a major renovation since the addition of the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center which did little to update the main building. The look and feel of the student union has changed very little over all those years and is in need of a complete renovation. It will be the task of the selected firm to provide complete design services to renovate this facility from its current 160,000 square foot size to a smaller student union that will meet the needs outlined in the POR and not exceed the proposed project budget. Provided A/E services will include but not be limited to, development of a POR, schematic design, design development, complete construction bid documents, bidding assistance, and full construction administration. For projects advertised with an appropriately developed Program of Requirements ("POR"), upon award of the Agreement, commence with Design. For projects without such a POR, upon award of the Agreement, commence by developing the Program of Requirements. The selected A/E, as a portion of its required Scope of Services and prior to submitting its proposals, will discuss and clarify with the Owner and/or the Contracting Authority, the cost breakdown of the Architect/Engineer Agreement detailed cost components to address the Owner's project requirements. Participate in the Encouraging Diversity, Growth& Equity (EDGE) Program as required by statute and the Agreement. Requests for information will be received via email at jeff@aeworks.com. The deadline for submitting questions shall be Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at 12:00pm. Questions received after this time will not be addressed.
