Site work for a water / sewer project in Rancho Cordova, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

This project is focused on the flooding predicted along White Rock Road, just east of Sunrise Boulevard. The hydraulic model predicts deep street flooding in this area during a 10-year storm event and larger. Model evaluations were developed and it was determined that 5.9 acre-feet of detention storage volume is required to reduce the 10-year flood water surface elevations to acceptable levels. This would require a relatively large underground storage facility. Collaboration with Costco is one of the options for incorporating the required underground storage. Additional data will be collected by the City to verify the results of the model before project initiation. This project is included in the City of Rancho Cordova's 2024-2026 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of February 16, 2024, information regarding a design team or a general contractor is not available. Construction is anticipated to begin post FY 2025/2026.* *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
