As of December 4, 2024, this project is no longer being sought. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Auburn has been responsible for providing space in which City Court can be held since the consolidation of the State Court system in the late 1970s. For a majority of that time, the City has chosen to site City Court on the first floor of the Historic Old Post Office (HOPO) building located at 157 Genesee Street, real property owned by Cayuga County (County). Due to its historic nature, the layout of the building and its attendant functionality is not currently up to the standards set by the Office of Court Administration (OCA). OCA, the County and the City have been in discussions as to how best to modernize the first floor of the building to serve as a modern court space. The parties have agreed that the City will provide a design study which will then be implemented by the County; each phase will comply with OCA guidance. This agreement is memorialized as an amendment to the longstanding agreement between the City and County. Currently there is one courtroom that serves two City Court judges. The NYS OCA is requesting the City to provide an additional courtroom, chambers and additional office and storage space. The selected firm will also have to work with the County and OCA. Final Design requires OCA approval. Firms need to provide their UEI number at time of submission. Contract term: 2 years Deadline for written questions is May 12, 2023 by 12:00 p.m. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
