City of Barrie wastewater treatment upgrades to accommodate growth by 2051. TIMELINE: A Request For Proposals from Consulting Services was awarded early 2024. The awarded proponent will prepare an update to the 2019 Wastewater Collection Master Plan. The notice of study commencement was issued mid-May 2024. The WWMP update will address wastewater collection and treatment requirements in one document, elaborating on the initial Master Plan which was completing in 2019. It will satisfy all legislative requirements in accordance with the Municipal Class EA Master Planning Process. The owner will prioritize future projects based on accommodation growth patterns by the identified timeframe. No construction is expected to result directly from this study.
