The City is requesting proposals to provide: The City of Clearlake has prepared this Request for Proposal (RFP) to retain an experienced and qualified design firm (Consultant) to assist with planning, design, and engineering for improvements for the Dam Road Roundabout. The site is located adjacent to Hwy 53, at the intersection with Dam Road. Just east of the traffic signal, the City is proposing a roundabout.
Project Initiation:
1. Conduct a preliminary site visit to identify site constraints, surrounding land uses, traffic flow patterns, and any other pertinent information. 2. Meet with the City staff and Cal Trans Staff at a City sponsored meeting to determine project goals and objectives, as well as their preferences and concerns regarding the design of the roundabout. (Estimate initial meeting and a follow-up at the 30% submittal). 3. Coordination with utilities companies. The consultant will coordinate with outside utilities companies to ensure that all existing facilities, both underground and overhead, are identified accurately during the design phase. This task will include writing letters to local water companies, County sewer districts, PG&E, and AT&T informing them of the project and requesting their facility drawings if necessary. 4. The City will separately contract to perform the necessary geotechnical study to support engineering design. 5. Prepare a detailed project technical memorandum that outlines the project goals, objectives, timeline, and anticipated construction budget
For this RFP, there is no pre-proposal meeting. Submit Questions for Clarification:January 18, 2024, 5:00pm City reserves the right to negotiate any price or provision, task order or service, accept any part or all of any proposals, waive any irregularities, and to reject any and all, or parts of any and all proposals, whenever, in the sole opinion of City, such action shall serve its best interests and those of the tax-paying public. The Agreement, if any is awarded, will go to the Proposer whose proposal best meets City's requirements.
