Once a new well is installed, the existing well needs to be plugged. The cap placed on the existing water well should support 400 pounds and should not be easily removable by hand. Vendor will need to measure the dimensions of the well (diameter, depth, and water level) to determine the size of the well. All debris will need to be removed from the well. Any obstruction will need to be removed to avoid fill materials from slumping or settling. A state well plugging report form will need to be obtained and filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The City of Del Rio reserves the right to consider any other factors that it deems to be relevant to its needs.
