The job scope shall consist of the following: Contractor shall provide all facilities, tools, labor, equipment, materials, transportation, supervision and administrative support required for the installation of a temporary barrier below the ceiling, approximately 100’ tall, to catch falling debris before it reaches the Production floor in Building 3047, located in the SWFLANT Limited Area (LA). Requirements are as follows: A. Barrier shall be installed below the ceiling and Fire Suppression System (FSS) piping, and above light fixtures. The Barrier when installed shall be configured to prevent material from falling out of the barrier edges. Barrier shall not introduce additional tension on light fixtures or associated cabling. B. Barrier shall be heat-activated such that it breaks apart or collapses prior to activation of the existing FSS, and NFPA/UFC-certified for use in this manner. C. Barrier shall be capable of being installed for 2-3 years without additional maintenance/service. Removal of barrier shall be covered under a separate contract at a later date. D. Barrier shall be installed above the Pit area (approximately 30’ x 60’) identified in yellow on Drawing 1. A larger barrier is acceptable if required to adequately protect the Pits from falling debris. E. Pits shall be adequately covered prior to installations, to avoid debris entering the Pits during installation. The covering shall be removed once installation is complete.
