Renovation of a medical facility in Lexington, Kentucky. Working plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.

Contractor shall construct a new door from the second story elevated connecting corridor from the Troy Bowling VA Medical Center to the neighboring University of Kentucky Hospital. A life safety metal staircase must be constructed for successful egress out of the building The construction firm is to provide construction services for Project No. 596A4-22-104 Construct Life Safety Exit and Exterior Staircase. Construction disciplines anticipated include general construction, demolition, electrical, exterior improvements, and certain other items. Furnish all labor, tools, materials, and expertise to complete Project 596A4-22-104 in strict accordance with the contract documents and specifications. Some work will be required after standard administrative hours; work may be limited to periods shorter than a standard shift for specific items in the project. This is a medical environment, and the contractor shall take into consideration infection control, demolition noise, environmental dust control, and specialized facility requirements as a medical environment requires. The hospital shall always remain in continuous operation and any utility interruptions shall be planned and executed as required, so as to minimize staff or patient disruptions. PRODUCT/SERVICE CODE: Y1DA Construction of Hospitals and Infirmaries This will be a 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns under the authority of 38 U.S.C section 8127 (d). NAICS code 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, applies to this requirement. The small business size standard is $45M. The estimated range of construction is Between $250,000 and $500,000. This requirement will be procured per Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 14.101 - Sealed Bidding. The solicitation is expected to be posted on or around May 9, 2022. This requirement is a 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) concerns under the authority of 38 U.S.C A8127 (d). Only those SDVOSB s listed and viewable in the Center for Verification & Evaluation (CVE) database located at https://veterans.certify.sba.gov/ shall be eligible for award. The CVE database will be checked at the time of offer submission as well as prior to award. All offers must also have an active listing in the System for Award Management (SAM) database. The awarded contractor must also submit evidence of enrollment with VETS4212. In addition to the requirements as set forth in the solicitation notice (to be issued), the proposed contractor must also be determined responsible in accordance with FAR Part 9. The Contracting Officer will determine responsibility prior to award any award being made. The Project number, Project Name and Solicitation Number must be included in the subject line of all questions related to this requirement.
