The Town of Brattleboro is requesting bid proposals from qualified Contractors to perform all aspects of creation of 7 acres of floodplain restoration at 250 Birge Street in Brattleboro, Vermont. Work tasks will generally involve installation of construction signs; installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment controls; establishment of construction site access; staking out of project features; clearing the site of select vegetation; improvement and protection of a water line; improvement and protection of a sewer line; excavation and haul of gravel fill; partial berm removal; riprap removal; site grading; building of park amenities; wetland restoration; landscaping with native species; and site restoration. Work includes excavation of an estimated 49,300 cubic yards (in place) of gravel fill. (Over)Excavated clean gravel from soil management area A (41,100 cubic yards) will become the property of the Contractor and shall be hauled to a legal site that must be approved by the Project Engineer. Two potential sediment disposal sites have previously been identified, and information is listed below so bidders may contact the owners.
