Saving Project...

Renovation of a water / sewer project in Banff, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The Town of Banff assumed operation of the community's water distribution infrastructure from Parks Canada in 1990 when the Town formally incorporated. Part of the infrastructure that the Town inherited are three water wells located on the north side of the trans-Canada highway (TCH). These wells are maintained on a regular basis to ensure sufficient raw water to the Town's main reservoir. During the recent maintenance period the electrical system of each well was inspected due to age for verification of function and reliability. In the process of inspection, the Town has identified several items that should be replaced. As these water distribution wells are critical infrastructure required to ensure sufficient water for the Town, minimal disruption is essential to the replacement of this equipment. Additional work is required at two other locations within the water distribution system. The inspection of motor control centers (MCC) at Mountain Ave Pump Station (MAPS) and Middle Springs Booster Station (MSBS).
