The Furnishing of Labor and Miscellaneous Materials for Installation of 12 Inch Diameter Ductile Cast Iron Water Line Between State Route No. 39 Industrial Park and Mooreville Road and Maiden Lane Intersection for the City of Dover, Ohio Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid guaranty in the form of 1) a certified check, or cashiers check, or letter of credit, equal to 10% of the bid; or 2) a bid guaranty bond for the full amount of the bid; both forms of guaranty as provided in Chapter 153 of the Ohio Revised Code and in the project specifications. The amount of the bid for said guaranty purposes shall include all additive and deductive alternates. All bid guaranties shall be conditioned that if the bid is accepted within sixty (60) days of the bid opening, a proper contract shall be executed, and that upon failure or refusal to enter into said contract within ten (10) days after receipt of notification of award the bidder and the surety on any bond shall be liable to the City in an amount not to exceed ten (10) per cent of the bid. Each bidder must insure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex or national origin. All bids shall comply with all of the requirements of the drawings, specifications and contract documents. This is authorized by Ordinances 42-22 and 43-22, passed 15 August 2022. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids. An exception to the statement made in the above paragraph 1 (a) is the City of Dover is furnishing to the Contractor at no cost the 1,342 lineal feet of 12" diameter ductile cast iron pipe with rubber gaskets, lubricant, brass wedges and polyethylene tubes for installation as shown on the plans. The pipe and its accessories are stored at the Dover Water Works Department yard on West Seventeenth Street in Dover. The Contractor is responsible for loading the pipe, etc. on his truck and transporting such to the project site. All other materials, except fire hydrants, required for the project shall be furnished by the Contractor as noted in the above paragraph 1 (a) . Lock type push-on-rubber-gasket ductile cast iron pipe shall meet the same requirements as specified in the above paragraph 2a) ; except, the push-on-rubber-gasket joint shall be a locked type equal to Clow Corporation's TR flex restrained joint pipe. This joint shall be incapable of being pulled apart and shall be used where locked type The work included under this section canprises the furnishing of all tools, materials, equipment, labor, freight, cartage and supplies necessary to install all water mains as indicated on the plans, including all cut-ins, pipe, fittings, bolts, gaskets, connections, concrete, and any other materials incidental to the completion of this portion of work. Mechanical joint ductile cast iron pipe shall conform to the same requirements as specified in paragraph 2a. All bolts shall be made of either high strength cast iron, containing a minimum of 0.50 percent copper or high strength, low-alloy steel. The fasteners shall comply fully with Public Law 101-592, the "Fastener Quality Act" and be manufactured in the United States of America. Push-on-rubber-gasket ductile cast iron pipe shall conform to A.N.S.I. Specification A 21.11 and A.W.W.A. Specification C 111 for joint requirements and conform to A.N.S.I. Specification A 21.51 and A.W.W.A. C 151 for material requirements. Also the pipe shall conform to A.N.S.I Specification A 21.50 and A.W.W.A. C 150, Class 53 for pipe barrel thickness requirements. Requirements shall meet those for pipe which are laid without blocks, on flat bottom trenches with tamped backfill, under five (5) feet of cover. 1A - 1
